Sometimes it seems so foolish to persist...
Oh? What's this? I'm awake? Past 2:30? Hmm .. I can't sleep? Yea, nothing new to see here folks.
Things come in threes, as they say. Ere go, miseries come in threes. Boredom is a misery, yes? Well, here are mine: I'm bored with being single. I'm bored with the 'burbs. I'm bored with not being a full-time student. Again, more of the same, I'd say.
I've been in Boston a lot this past week. For many reasons; seeing friends, applying for jobs & attempting to get my NU shiz in order. After living at home full time since June 16th (not that I remember these dates...) and being in town only so much makes me realize how much I HATE sitting in my parents' basement at 2:30 AM watching PBS documentaries ... night after night. My only social outlet right now is FB chat; which, ladies and gents, is being as cooperative as a secretary 10 minutes before her lunch break.
I suppose just being out with Tori, Dan and Sophie the other night cemented that idea in me. I can't just meet people at a bar/club/hangout on a whim anymore. I can plan to meet people whenever, sure, but just calling people up and being somewhere or doing something a half hour later is half the fun of being 22. Yes, I know people on the SS, but not nearly as well as I do with my Bostonian crew (except for Ashley, of course). Ugh, this is why, I NEED to get rid of the car, and get BACK to the city for January. Maybe this is all because I've lived in the city, and now I'm back in suburbia. Maybe its just because my suburbia isn't even far from Boston -- it's just far enough away to give any plan a second thought.
Hopefully, 3 months from now, nights like this will all be but a memory.
Oh, and the whole 'being single' schpeal .. I was asked out by a girl last week. Eh, I suppose it's a start?
