... And the busiest!
New chapter of The Long Game coming up later, but for now, I need to make a list so that I can cross things off and perhaps feel marginally less doomed. (I doubt it, though. I am pretty doomed.)
For Today
* Put Almond Paste on the tops of 3 Christmas cakes (and Dad's Birthday cake). - 21/12
* Ice and decorate 5 Christmas cakes (and Dad's Birthday cake). - 21/12
* Wrap a boatload of presents for my Auntie Lesley & her brood (for tonight) with Mum. - 21/12 -- 17 presents, total. *dies*
* Remind Dad to buy Christmas Booze (white rum, Amaretto, Baileys, hopefully Amarula, cream for cocktails). Totally forgot, but shops shut anyway. - Didn't need to remind him! Booze bought, 23/12
For Hopefully Today
* Finish writing 'The Long Game' - at least three chapters (approx. 9K). (Hahahahaha, not happening, is it?) - 23/12 Ch.8 completed!
* Listen to the mix-tape CD Chris made (hopefully before tomorrow, when I'll be seeing him).
* Put up and decorate Christmas Tree? (This one depends on parental plans. We have a tree, but haven't put it up yet.) - 23/12 -- Tree up and decked with lights; no baubles/tinsel/etc. yet. 24/12 -- Tree fully decorated (90% by me)!
Before The End Of The Week
* Finish writing 'The Long Game'! At least three chapters (approx. 9K).
* Go to Manchester Cathedral Lessons & Carols service with
Ice_elf,
siraplowe and Chris - tomorrow (22nd). :D (Remember to take the Christmas cards, Alice!) - 22/12, had a wonderful time!
* Wrap other Christmas presents (Mum, Dad, friends, plus help parentals with Assorted Family prezzies). - 24/12
* Tidy room (because it probably needs doing).
* Beta Ch.6 of
ice_Elf's amazing Torchwood AU fic,
Jack and the Beanstalk when I get it. :D (Received 23/12.) - 24/12
* Catch up with Merlin (currently 4 eps. behind).
Between Christmas And New Year
* Boxing Day with Grandma.
* 27th and 28th in Lancaster with
lady_leonida (and James and Rach), possibly.
* Meal with
ice_Elf,
siraplowe, Sam, Sarah S,
scripteens (in theory) and Chris in Manchester.
* New Year with Mum, Dad and Dave (and a ton of booooooooze, and probably Jools Holland). :D
* Re-watch S1 of Sherlock in preparation for new Sherlock on New Year's Day (OMG SO EXCITED!)
* Read Harry Potter 4 to 7. (Ha. Hahahaha. Haha, yeah, no. No time, yet again.)
* Watch It's A Wonderful Life.
Preferably Before New Year, But Before The End Of The Holidays Will Do
* Watch It's A Wonderful Life again.
* Catch up with Glee to the Christmas ep.
* Catch up with Downton Abbey S1, S2 & Christmas ep. (Ha. Hahahaha. Haha. Not happening, no time!)
* Watch A Christmas Story (if Mum can put up with it).
* Watch Lost Christmas and Treasure Island (because Eddie Izzard is awesome).
* Watch the many and various Christmas specials (eg: QI, Mock the Week, etc.)
* Watch the Warehouse 13 Christmas ep.
* Watch the first Big Bang Theory Christmas ep. (the one with Leonard Nimoy's napkin).
* Play at least one board game with the family (probably Scrabble).
And that's just the things I can think of!
There are some nice things in there, but there are just so many things! SO MANY THINGS. *crawls into a corner and weeps* It'll be fun, though. I'm going to enjoy all of the bits I actually get done, so ... :D
But yes. Busy. Insanely busy. Now, time for food and then some more on the fic (before Mum gets back with more almond-paste-making materials and we move on to Cake Time) ...
23/12 UPDATE: Some more things checked off the list, but not many. :S I'm definitely going to be beta-ing and writing over Christmas proper, then ... *sigh*
24/12 UPDATE: Ticked off a couple more things. I think I'm going to stop updating this now, but hopefully I'll be able to post a nice, new, shiny list of all the things I've done on the 31st. ;)
