The Plan: Mission Accomplished!

Dec 12, 2009 21:45

The other day, I posted The Plan for the week. As of today, everything on it (barring a bit of reading for the Dissertation which can go teach its grandmother to suck eggs, frankly) is deliciously, gloriously done.

I still have to type up the last essay and add quotes and footnotes and a bibliography and things, but aside from that, some Old Norse translation, a lecture and a translation seminar - I'm done for this term! WOO!

So, tonight, I went 'round to kara_kicks's house for a bead making session with the Fine Art Society. Only two people turned up aside from me and Lexi (one of the presidents), but that was OK - the house isn't exactly huge, so ... yeah. We had just the right number. We made tons of beads, and it was a lot of fun! I made animal heads - Lion, Tiger and Panda - and Planet Earths. Ambitious and kind of stupid, as it turned out - but also fun! I then moved on to the much simpler idea of chilli-peppers, which was therapeutic after the Deformed Panda Debacle ...

Tomorrow afternoon, we're going to use those beads (and the ones we've bought) to make jewellery. Hopefully we'll get a good turn-out, although you can never know ...

Then, on Monday, I'm going for a meal at an English Lit. friend's house (with another English Lit. buddy). Tuesday is the Christmas Formal (OMG, I'm excited! *bouncebounce* And also, I think I'm going to make an effort and actually Go Out. Y'know, to a club. This is a big deal; it never happens. XD) Wednesday is the Fine Art Society Exec. meal, at La Tasca (again - excited!) which should be nice.

And then, on Thursday - HOOOOOOME! I'm not going to lie; I can't wait. Really. I just want to get in the car and drive home and ... just be home, with my family. Poke my Sims. Catch up on missed TV (Heroes, Glee and Flash Forward are all on the cards). Watch Chrismas movies (definitely It's a Wonderful Life and the Cult Classic A Christmas Story, at least!). Bake Christmas Cake. See my friends (hee, Chrismas Meal! Another one I can't wait for!). Decorate the tree ...

Actually, what I'm looking forward to most is just ... being home. I love my family, and I miss them. It is going to be so good.

Until then, though - time to wrap presents and catch up on Merlin! *happydances*
