As Long As He Needs Me~

Went to see Oliver yesterday, on a whim. It was a lot of fun, and well worth going, but ... to be honest, I think I'd rather have stayed here. Everything that could have gone wrong did.

*The train out to Newcastle was ten minutes late. We legged it to the station, and we didn't need to. I suppose this was a good thing in disguise, as it allowed us to get tickets and stuff, but still.
*We had to powerwalk/run to the Theatre Royal, to get there in time. (And we got slightly lost, even though we've been there twice before.)
*There was one seat left, at the back of the Gallery. There were two of us. However, Fortume decided to shine on us for the first time at that point, to our considerable relief. A very, very lovely man had two tickets going spare, and he sold them to us for half price. (£8.50 each instead o £16/£18 each!) They were excellent seats, but really far apart - James was at the back of the Stalls and I was at the front of the Grand Circle, probably in one of the best seats in the house. I was right smack bang in the middle of the second row back. ^^
*Legged it back to the train station after leaving the theatre at 21:45, trying to catch the 21:50 train. We missed it by two minutes. It was the last train to Durham.
*Accosted by a drunk hairdresser and his friend, who extolled the virtues of University and gave us directions to the bus station.
*Had a slight internal panic attack on the way to the bus station, because Newcastle scares me at night, as do all cities.
*Got to the bus station, onlt to realise that there were no busses to Durham leaving from the Bus Station.
*Got directions from a nice Bus Driver, who told us to catch the #21 from stand 71. Got lost on the way there, and missed the bus by five minutes, meaning we had a half hour wait.
*Got on the bus, hurrah!
*The Bus crashed. On the way through one of the roundabouts in Durham (near Elvet Riverside, where the lecture theatres are), the bus collided with a car. The bus driver stopped at the next stop, the car pulled up behind him, and the drivers started having a heated argument. Someone got off the bus to ask what was going on, and apparently the driver said he would be "as long as it takes".
*Sat there for 15 minutes, then gave up and walked home. (Bought chips on the way, and burned my tongue on them.)
*Arrived back at VM three hours after the end of the show.

UGH. And I didn't even have a soddinng notepad with me. *annoyed*

It was a good performance, but I'd've rather been here, writing my NaNo and finishing Mansfield Park so I could write my essay today/tomorrow ...

*panicking slightly now, about everything*
