[Actually, it kind of fools Med'an. At least, he feels a little better.]

L.

My name is Med'an.

It's good to make your acquaintance, Med'an.

[Interesting name. L wouldn't make small-talk like commenting on that though. He waits to see if this person has anything else to say]

I don't believe that what we saw was our future, either. Not our true future...because we have the power to change it.

[He's interested in this whole hero thing. or at least what he perceives as heroic.]

Where do we need to start? There's obviously no conventional way to leave the town. I don't think teleportation would work, either...

That is a good attitude to have, and entirely true. The future is never set in stone.

[Which is B lying through his teeth. If he didn't believe in fate, he wouldn't trust the lifespan readings his eyes had always showed him, which would be foolish. Although from what he remembered from the future, he still could not see the numbers that determined the death date - he'd have to look at someone's face to confirm that.

As for the second question, he thinks carefully about it]

I was also thinking that there is a very low chance of teleportation being effective.

[I mean, does teleportation even...exist? But he does have his own theories about this]

Therefore, unless dimensions can be cut open - which I've no doubt someone would have done already if they could - there is no chance of physical escape.

However, I do not believe this is a problem. In fact, one's mentality should be the only instrument that is required to escape this place.

Yeah, it it was possible, then there wouldn't be so many of us. [...] But if there's no physical escape...do you mean that we need to have strength of mind to escape?

That is certainly part of it.

[He thinks about this for a while in silence.]

So many people lost hope. I don't know...how we can get them to keep going.
