introduction

hey everyone, i just joined the community. i discovered basquiat several months ago when the movie aired on the sundance channel. ever since then i've been fascinated with his life and art and have been reading everything i can about him and his amazing work. luckily, the museum of fine arts houston (where i live) is having a huge retrospective of his work, as i'm sure you are all well aware. my art history class is going on thursday. not only that, i'm going to the beats of basquiat party on saturday night at the museum! i can't remember the last time i've been this excited. has anyone been? how was it? anyway, just felt like sharing.

EDIT: almost forgot. people have been tagging billboards so that they say "samo lives". it started right when the exhibit came to town. the last one i saw was on montrose blvd but i don't know if it has been cleaned off. i hope not.
