The horror at Orac's sudden outburst is fab I must admit.
I try and ignore any and all implication that the Servalan and Tarrant is anything other than sand-induced! Urgh. the others are oddly unforgiving of Tarrant on the basis of very very little information - the fact he's slow to tell them and Avon's implication. Dayna I could see, but Soolin and Vila seem equally outraged.
It'sa pretty weak motivation for going to Vern even before we find out that the extemely unexciting "magical chemical" of the week is... Preservative...
Servalan's outfit is even more inappropriate than usual for the prevailing weather!
The sand itself is an interesting concept for a science fiction setup.
I lost track of why Reeve suddenly wanted to shoot at what he thought was Keller's team.
Fun scene switch from Avon's "The usual - we wait." to Tarrant's "What are you waiting for!"
Nice to see a bit of continuity in Tarrant remarking on his brother.
Soolin's sudden curse theory is a bit left field!
Avon is surprisingly understanding with Vila this time out.
No one comments that the glass Vila is nursing is water - argues against the occasional portrayal of him as a drunk this season.
the extemely unexciting "magical chemical" of the week is... Preservative... Ha, yes, that would really have given them the edge, wouldn't it...
Soolin's sudden curse theory is a bit left field! It seemed a rather shamelessly self-referential thing to put in by the writer. "Hey, remember this other episode that I also wrote? What if it was somehow responsible for all the bad luck they've been having since then? (It's all my plot, MINE! Mwahaha!!!")
No one comments that the glass Vila is nursing is water I assumed that it was some kind of wine rather than pure alcohol (it looked the same as the 'wine' Dorian offered them in 'Rescue') and that it reacted with the sand on the basis of being *mostly* water.
I noticed that all of them except Avon were shown with glasses of it back at the base though - including Tarrant. No "don't drink and fly" policy it seems...
