I can't express how much I love the fact that the Liberator crew - old AND new - regularly sit down and play board games together. And that none of them seem to think it's a silly thing to do. <3

One has to wonder at their degree of attention to the navigation though, when Orac is able to change the course so dramatically that they find themselves in an entirely different sector - to their great surprise. They weren't even going very fast by the sound of it...

I do love Avon's "Yeah, right. Get in line" grin at Tarrant's threat. Though I'm surprised that Avon's self-interest would shock Tarrant in the first place (and it wasn't even on someone else’s expense, this time.) Tarrant doesn't exactly project a white hat image himself.

"Delay regretted." Aw, Zen admitting to a bit of emotion at being bullied by Orac. And later he gives them an unsolicited reminder that Vila is still out there, which I very much want to read as concern.

I remember being disappointed before by the others' lack of reaction to Vila's "death", but this time it actually did come across to me as genuine shock. Which is somewhat annoying in its own right: after all, they sent him out into utterly unknown territory; did it really not occur to them that it might be lethally dangerous? But at least the feeling is there.

I enjoy the fact that Tarrant's space-helmet has got clearly visible air-holes. And I snorted at how he managed to say the line "We don't understand anything!" and still sound so self- assertive. And at his theory on the evolution of fingers for button-pressing.

Avon's freezing-up moments and his tendency to stare at people (or things, or empty space) for too long both seem to be getting worse. It's as if his working memory is too small (or too full) to process the contents of his mind and the position of his body simultaneously.

Somehow I feel that the revelation of what the Thaarn looked like did not quite live up to the drama with which it was treated...

I like the board game too. Seems to be a space-y cross between Monopoly and Risk...

Tarrant taking the hump at someone going for the one spacesuit is odd. Snide remarks after the fact - sure. Trying to actively hinder so they all die together - over the line into creepy!

Adore the 'fingers are designed for button pushing not writing' notion!
