Got the full Dr. Who first season as an early b-day present & had something of a Whofest with my Dad & little brother. I found it amusing that Dad described the 60's TARDIS as a "pop can hanging from strings" just before watching "The Empty Child." Needless to say, I included the series on my interest list.
We did pause for one thing, though: the Science Channel did Marvel superpowers in real life. X-men, five-armed salamanders, bulked-up mice, half-nekkid bodybuilding men, and lifting cars with half-inch-thick polymers. Cutting edge science + comic book geekery = OTP. They also did some documentary a while back called "Alien Planet" that featured some possible forms of alternate evolution. Four words: swamp dragons & Andalite feet. (With nearly probable explanations.) I have just about decided that the Science Channel is teh awesome.
Not much of substance to add to that tonight, but many shiny things under the cut.
