thanksgiving!
ok so here i am at school. for thanksgiving. how lame slash weird.
i will tell you what i have done for the past few days. ok. so erin my roommate left on tuesday even though we had classes on wed. so that was kind of nice bc erin is rad but i got to be alone to finish all my work that is kind of good. most people were gone by wednesday though except for me and anna (who also is staying here) and then some random people and this cool alex guy who lives down my hall. so then wed night anna alex and this weird ben guy and i went to dinner.
and oh yeah. it snowed hardcore on wednesday and a little on thursday. so now it is stuck and there is ice on the ground and stuff but it hasn't snowed anymore i don't think. and then we rented a bunch of horrible movies and watched some of them wednesday and some of them later. but we got:
1: the virgin suicides
2: i heart huckabees
3: millennium mambo (this is a weirdo taiwanese movie that got good reviews but we hated it and turned it off before it was over)
4: waking life (we didn't have time to watch this but i had already seen it)
5: this weird documentary about a guy who went to peru as an anthropologist and i think and artist and he turned into a cannibal. but he's american. and now it's like fifty years later and he's old. but we turned that one off real fast so i'm not really sure what it was about but it was weird)
6: heathers
so our movies were mostly LAME
but we also watched garden state and amelie.
and then thanksgiving alex left so that was one little bit less of coolness. then on thanksgiving we went over to this guy eben's house because he and all his roommates left but he's dating one of my friends and he is nice and let us use his house. so oh yeah i forgot on wed. we rode our bikes in the freezing snow storm to the grocery store to buy our thanksgiving feast
then we went to his house on thursday and set up all our stuff and then went to the retirement center where i work and ate thanksgiving dinner at like 1:30pm. with this really awesome cool old couple and they were really nice and entertaining. and that turned out to be way cooler than we thought it would be. and then we went back and thawed the turkey and cooked it and didn't eat all that stuff til like 10pm. we had turkey, that was kind of lame. i mean... we got it cooked which is a miracle but it wasn't particulary good. but now we have lots of leftovers. and we had boxed stuffing and mashed potatoes and also some pumpkin pie and ummmm vanilla pudding which i think we're just gonna eat tonight. and i tried to make gravy and FAILED it was SO NASTY
and that was an interesting night.
and then today i woke up really late and we went back to our dorm (we slept at eben's) and then i went to work and played piano for the old people for like an hour or something. then came back and got anna and we went to dinner and went to her bio lab bc she had to count some plants or something. and then went back to eben's to finish doing the dishes and got a pot so we could mac and cheese in our dorm. and then we walked back to the dorm and just got here and now we are gonna watch movies and eat pudding and mac and cheese. but oh. all of htis was done in the freezing cold snow and it sucks bc we had to walk billions of blocks.
but then i have to work some more this weekend and tomorrow is anna's bday and we might try to go to the mall or a movie or something. which is hard bc we have to figure out all the buses. that is lame. and then i have major homework. and that's about it.
but anyway. that is my lovely thanksgiving. it is alright. i miss home. !!!!!
