Bet that surprised you! Right!?

Yes i do still keep up with my friends LJ, even if i don't write in my own! And to prove this point, i shall post herein, the following as suggested by nympholepsia:

Career Interest Rank
1.Computer Programmer
2.Computer Engineer
3.Multimedia Developer
4.Business Systems Analyst
5.Database Developer
6.Web Developer
8.Video Game Developer
9.Webmaster
10.Electronics Engineering Tech
11.Electrical Engineering Tech
12.Biomedical Engineer
13.Website Designer
14.Electrical Engineer
15.Economist
16.Technical Writer
17.Chemical Engineer
18.Industrial Designer
20.Drafter
21.Electrician
22.Cartoonist / Comic Illustrator
23.Computer Trainer

I'm only posting the non-crap ones however, as everything below that is entirely too dull and not at all due to the fact that i don't use my Live Journal enough to know how to LJcut, or if i even can ;)

I'm not all that surprised at the top 5, i actually do work as 1, 2, 4 and 5 right now, as a single job. Multimedia Developer i'm not so sure about at all. It's more closely related to Website Designer these days, and my lack of artistic patience fails me every time!

Economist i thought could be interesting, though i'm not entirely sure people employ economists as sign them contractually. And i don't think i like the idea of being a contractor at the moment. Cartoonist/Illustrator would be cool, if i could draw. At all.

Quite interesting as they all seem to have some element of design or engineering to them. And i never really saw myself as much of a designer, more the person that puts the designs into practice. but when i sit and think about it, i think i enjoy that side of my job quite a bit.

And to shock you all further, something related to real life events!! I have actually been thinking about moving jobs. My current position has served me well, but i'm seriously bored of it. Though there are still challenges and lessons for me to learn and perfect, the subject matter is stale; And i'm not sure i like the way the industry is going either.

So from that list: probably Technical Writer, Economist, Web Developer/Website designer are interesting. And though in my heart i'd love to get into Video Game Design, i don't feel i'd be any good at the design aspect of it. Give me a problem to solve within a game mechanic, sure. I could probably come up with a design solution and implement it. But as to basic fundamental game design, i don't think i have the imagination for that. I'm more a technical design kinda developer.

Incidentally surely there isn't too much difference between an Electrical Engineer, Electrical Engineering Tech, Electronics Engineering Tech and an Electrician? o.O

And would ya believe it, this turned into a long entry. As per usual. I'm sure most of you are used to this trend by now, or have at least forgotten :P
