Finished the Book
Well, I finished East of Eden. I guess it was alright...there was some excitement at the end. But it still ended up being one of those "nice guys finish last" books. The only really decent guy in the book ended up having his wife run away and be a whore. And then, the second nicest, his son (although a little on the concieted side) was driven to insanity by his brother (who admitted that he was bad) joined the war, got killed, and that's not mentioning how his "bad" brother took his girlfriend from him too. So I didn't find it a very uplifting story, but I guess I should take some solace in it. After all, I'm not really "good" anyway...
