If you've got insurance through Commonwealth Choice, you may have noticed that they've sent out several notices saying that you have until August 15 to make changes to your plan, and you should call such and such number to do that.
These notices are lying.
If you want to change your plan, you are actually supposed to go to mahealthconnector.org, flip through the "Find a plan" bullshit as if you don't have one, and apply for whatever plan it is you want to switch to.
The poor schmuck who took my call earlier today explained that no, there are no good instructions on the website explaining this, either, and he was wondering himself why all the notices went out saying "Call us" when you're NOT SUPPOSED TO CALL THEM LIKE THEY SAY YOU ARE, but they are aware of the problem and will, apparently, not end up billing you for TWO insurance plans (if you switch to a less expensive plan, they will credit you for whatever you have probably already paid; if you switch to a more expensive one, then you'll just pay the difference if your first month of the new plan and last month of old plan overlap).
I know, who would ever expect such a well-organized organization as Commonwealth Choice to make a massive stupid timewasting fuckup like this? I am shocked, SHOCKED I TELL YOU to see such poor communication from a state agency.
I am too pissed off to even work up a good rant.
