Everyone seems to be MIA since school started again. I do miss the summer. But my classes seem fun enough. One is on aesthetic systems, essentially my last anthropology class as an undergraduate. Due to my lack of social networking with professors, I feel extra pressure to get chummy with this one. She looks quite young for someone with a doctorate ( Read more... )

Eddy is right. If you are on the fence about your job, make sure you find a new one before you quit this one.

I think the GF might have a spot open for you. It would be just one day a week and you would probably be making a lot more than you are making now. Its pretty much just paying bills and stuff. You would probably have to dress "professionally", but I think the day is flexable and you wouldn't have to deal with annoying customers (most of the staff there is really nice). It is in Beverly Hills, so you could go there before or after school. I'll ask her if it is still available, if you'd like.

"I think I really need to come out of my shell and try to get to know one or even two."

You can always ask a Prof that you like to do an independant study with them-it looks good on your academic resumee and it gives you a chance to get to know them. I'm not sure if you need anymore units though.

"And for once, I want to write a paper or do a project seriously, not do it last minute."

This is a good idea. Many Grad schools want to see a writing sample (this is the problem I'm running into presently), so it would be worth it to give it your all on at least one paper.

Good Luck!

oh, re: the job, you might be able to spread out the "day" (i.e. work four hours one day and four hours another).

ahh nice. I'm definitely open to any other job that might be better than this one. Especially if I can work less and paid more! Anyway, let me know of any further details.
