Are you quoting me on the "second-wave emo" part?

I agree with much of what you've said here, especially concerning Basement on the Hill. Realizing that it's not a proper record, it still has a lot of the best work he ever did on it, without question. It's criminally underrated, which is an opinion I also have about Figure 8, which never seems to get the attention I think it's due.

I love the new Thermals album. The Beirut album is very underrated, and I really must get From a Basement on a Hill.

"The Protector" and "Blue Ridge Mountains" are the two tracks that grab me on Fleet Foxes, but for some reason "Meadowlark" annoys me.

"Four Minute Mile", I agree, is magnificent.

I don't get the Fleet Foxes at all. I love that kind of vocal harmonising usually but I tend to prefer it when there's a tune or some energy to it instead of endless, drippy, beardy noodling away.

Hmm, see, I went and listened to "Mykonos" the first time you said that, but... it didn't really do anything. I'll give Sun Giant a proper listen at some point (if nothing else, when I get to the Ses!) and see, but... hmm. I don't know what version I've got, beyond the fact that it's whatever version my Dad got off eMusic...
