Home safe...

Well, we made it home safe and sound from Gulf War.  We packed up Saturday afternoon after the Castle battle and then stayed a bit longer to help the last person in camp get loaded up so they could scoot last night also.

Lots of stuff to distill this war.  I'm soooo tired.  The car ride from site to the hotel outside Jackson, MS was the longest stint I've had to sit down (except for sleeping) in a week.  I cramped up pretty bad but the hot shower in the hotel helped immensley.

Things learned this war:
  • Boy clothes ROCK!  At no point during the week did I have to contend with soggy dresses or hems picking up half the campsite forest dropping leaves and twigs down my back while contending with the oh so fun port-a-privys.
  • $25 is NOT too much to spend for the straw hat you've always wanted.  Especially when it keeps your face and neck from burning badly for an entire week
  • $50 is far too much to spend, even at war, for fiberglass spears and if I had heard one more merchant quote me that price sounding like it was a bargan, I was going to start swinging.
  • People still surprise me.
  • I really love my friends.
  • I love my friends so much that 14th century cote junkie me got Viking accessories.  Treasure beads are almost as fun as buttons.......almost.
  • Making clothes for other people really is worth it when you get a big hug and smile as a thank you.
  • Despite being so tired and sore I can hardly move, Gulf War did a lot to help me remember what it is I love about this silly game.  I'm really glad to have had it before these next 6 or 7 weeks in a row of solid eventing.
