I was all ready to not consume any more behind-the-scenes stuff from Sherlock (it was mostly annoying me and making it hard for me to enjoy the show--when I've already got to deal with crap treatment of female characters and racefail. Life, so hard), but I'd downloaded the commentary for HoB, and I had some time tonight, so whatever, I put it on, and lol. LOL. Russell Tovey and Sue Vertue are amazing. Also! Martin Freeman doesn't drive--he can't drive, therefore Watson can't drive. So Sherlock has to drive. I love that 1500%.
(When I originally watched the episode, I was like, "Huh. Well. On the one hand, yay overturning the 'Watson is the butler' trope, and on the other hand, yay enforcing the 'contemporary!Holmes is a control freak' trope. I'm a fan of this." It's sort of hilarious that there was no meta stuff going on there at all. In fact, Gatiss and Moffat are both like, "Of course Watson should drive! But Martin can't drive, so *shrug*," in the commentary.)
And this is why I can never pass up consuming more canon :/

1. Listen to Leonard Cohen's new album, Old Ideas, in its entirety via the intronets
at NPR. It's so fucking good. Ugh. Dammit, dude. Brilliant.
2. I present the quintessential chocolate vodka:
Chocolodka (invented/hosted by a loltastic Leonard Cohen fanboy). It's made with Cadbury's Dairy Milk Caramel (which I think is the same thing as a Caramilk?), and utilizing either a bain-marie or a dishwasher. I'm excited to do some science with
estrellada and fronds. We're like Mythbusters up in here.
