I love this!!!!!! It's beautiful and just how he finds reminders in everything he sees, I wish I could give you a better comment. The ending is amazing, and the wording, the style, so melancholy, and yet hopeful.

I'm always interested to see what other people say, and wow, I really like this interpretation. It definitely makes it seem a lot more angsty than I had planned, but even more poignant and bittersweet at the end.
