CHAPTER FOUR

Groaning at his aching limbs, Min leaned against his bedroom wall as the sun hit his eyes. Min decided that many hours of dancing and one tequila shot was as tiring as five tequila shots. As he rolled out of bed, Min suddenly remembered what Jae had said last night.

You shouldn’t be jealous of Alex. I noticed you the first time I met you.

What did that mean? Did Jae like him also? Or was he just teasing? Min went back and forth between intense happiness and intense doubt. In any case, he definitely needed to get some coffee, something he usually reserved for emergencies.

“So Min, heard you were out late last night…” Junsu started.
“…” Min had his head on the table, thanking the gods it was Saturday.
“Did you enjoy yourself?”
“…” The table was actually quite comfortable, considering it was made of cheap plastic.
“Uh huh, I see. So you two danced intensely, stared passionately into each other’s eyes, and decided to kiss each other silly. Good job, Min. You should wear mature clothes more often,” Junsu was now poking Min with his fork, trying to elicit any form of response.

“He said he noticed me the first time he met me. Does that mean he likes me?” Min wondered aloud. He sensed a slight pricking on his arm, but kept his head on the table and his eyes closed. Poke poke poke poke poke went Junsu’s fork, to no avail.

“Junsu! What’s up man? Hey, what’s wrong with Min?” Junsu looked up to find Micky with a tray of food and Yunho standing next to him.
“I think he’s a little lovesick…the beautiful Jae strikes deadly,” said Junsu dramatically, clutching at his chest and throwing his head back.
“Mmm, classic. Hey Min, are you going to eat that?” Yunho asked.
“Min?” Yunho repeated, poking his arm a couple of times.

“I tried that already,” Junsu explained.
“Man, Min’s totally taken isn’t he?” Micky said.
“You should just take it. Probably the one and only time you’ll ever get food from Minnie,” Junsu whispered.

Yunho was about to grab the plate, when Min’s eyes suddenly shot open and grabbed Yunho’s wrist.
“I don’t think so,” said a steely-voiced Min.
Yunho jumped a little, but jokingly said,
“Sheesh! I guess the one thing Min will never give up, even for love, will be food.”

Min then proceeded to shove everything on his plate into his mouth, and got up with a “sorryhavetogo, talktoyouall later!” leaving a perplexed Micky, an understanding Junsu, and a slightly disappointed Yunho.

“Well, at least he got off the table…” Micky said.

Min was pacing. He could see students sitting around the quad looking at him oddly, but he couldn’t quite make up his mind whether to go in or not. Were Jae’s words in terms of just being close friends? Or was it something more? Maybe Jae liked him! Maybe it was just a simple comment that didn’t mean anything at all. Aish, he just didn’t know at all. He sometimes wished his brain would stop thinking so much about every single detail. Stupid brain.

“Oh screw it,” he said to himself and pressed the doorbell decisively, impatiently waiting for someone to open the door.

“Min! How are you? Come in, we’re hanging out in the lounge…”

Right. His friends were still here. Including Alex, who had just opened the door. Min forced himself to smile in greeting and let Alex lead him into the common room.

Hax and Zora were playing DDR, while Jae looked up from his book.
“Hey Min. You can join in if you want - I’m just reading Snowcrash,” Jae said.
“Uhhh, I don’t think I can really move after last night, hehe…I think I’ll just sit, thanks,” Min replied. Arg, I really need to talk to you alone, because I don't know what last night meant…

Min sat antsy, tapping his foot and deciding that perhaps he should been less hasty. He started to turn towards Jae, maybe say something light and funny, but found himself unable to form the right words. Doing a lovely impression of a goldfish, Min kept opening and closing his mouth, only able to watch Jae read intently but not able to say anything.

Jae was wearing glasses today, giving a somewhat odd but nevertheless intriguing air to his normal countenance. His slightly furrowed brow made Min inwardly smile as the intellectual looking, almost studious Jae was a stark contrast to last night. Min wondered if he himself could have a similar transformation. Most people saw him as the hard working, slightly nerdy, but cute (never hot or sexy) boy who was friendly towards everyone.

Min sighed softly, letting his mind wander and focusing instead on watching Hax and Zora instead of ogling Jae. What he really wanted to do was talk to Jae alone, but he didn’t want to seem rude. He supposed he was stuck with the current situation. Why hadn’t he just waited until later in the day when he could catch Jae over AIM or even ask Junsu to see if Jae was alone? Min sighed to himself again. Maybe the ddr screen could distract him for now. I'm a cowgirl, and I want to be banged…

“Min? You alright? We can go down to the kitchen or something if you need something,” Jae said. “Min?”

“Um…” was Min’s eloquent reply. He had been focusing so hard on watching the small green arrows go up the screen that he hadn’t heard Jae until the last moment.

“Here, we’ll go downstairs. Hey, any of you guys need anything?” Jae marked his page and began standing up, motioning to Min to get up.

“Nope!” Zora was keeping it easy on Light.
“Must…keep…ddring!!” Hax was determined to pass Healing Vision on heavy.
“No, I’m fine,” Alex winked.

Min followed Jae downstairs to the kitchen area. The basement was a little sketchy, but the kitchen was set up relatively nicely for a dorm. Jae looked for some glasses, while Min leaned against the stove. Okay, we’re alone, we can finally talk, and maybe I can figure out what’s going on, Min thought. On second thought, we’re alone! o_O Must not think about kissing, must not think about making out, must first find out if boy likes you, yes that would be good, Min’s mind was going a mile a minute.

“So-“
“Do you-“
They both looked up and laughed, with Min saying, “You go first.”
“Oh, I was just going to ask what you wanted.”
“Anything’s fine really. Some form of juice?”
“Alright. Here you go,” Jae handed him a Final Fantasy cup with OJ in it.
“Don’t mind the cups. They were free, so the dorm took them. Anyway, what were you saying before?”
“Oh, um, it’s not really that important,” Min said. But he could see Jae still looking at him questioningly. Min was fiddling with his glass.

Silence ensued, as Jae put the juice away. Anxious for some reason, Min gulped the liquid down, his Adam’s apple bobbing as he finished off the glass. Sighing with content, Min set the glass on the sink, only to find Jae standing rather close to him and staring at him intently. Chewing his lips nervously, Min finally asked,
“What?”
“Mmm…you seem nervous for some reason.”
“What? Me? Oh, no, I'm just a little tired, that's all,” Min mumbled. Fidget, fidget, fidget. Tense silence.

“You sure you don’t have anything to say to me?” Jae asked.
Min shook his head, finding that actually asking Jae outright what he meant last night was a lot harder than expected. Maybe he could just wait for more signs from Jae…hmm, the tiles in here were octagon shaped with squares, while everywhere else only had square tiles.

If Min had been closer attention, he would have seen Jae with a slightly quirky smirk approaching him closer and closer.
“You know, I never said goodnight properly…” Jae began to say.
“Properly? But what do you mean-“
But Min found himself shutting up as he looked up and saw Jae leaning towards him. Backing into the counter, Min felt heat radiating from Jae’s body. Min’s heart started to race, and he could only stare back at Jae’s intense eyes as Jae slowly took off his glasses, and moved towards Min as Min’s eyes instinctively slid shut.

A soft, almost ticklish feeling pressed against his lips as he sensed Jae’s hands rest against the counter. He felt Jae softly caress his slightly chapped lips, a tingling sensation that threatened to spread dangerously. Opening his mouth slightly, Min teased back, their dry lips heightening the sensitive, sweet kiss. It was slow, each brush of skin a shivering tingle that left Min aching for more.

Jae started to pull back a little, but Min clutched his shirt and pressed closer. He wanted more, but wasn’t quite sure if he should. He shyly flicked his tongue out to lap at Jae’s lips, cheeks reddening. Jae opened his eyes in surprise, but parted his lips open and sought out Min’s tongue.

Min moaned as he found himself with a mouthful of Jae, slowly but insistently thrusting into his mouth. Without thinking he began sucking on Jae’s tongue, letting it suction in and out, their mouths making rather obscene smacking noises. Min felt his body reacting, could feel Jae reacting through their jeans as he pressed himself closer to Jae.

They broke apart for air, Min with his head thrown back while Jae had his hands straddling Min’s hips. Min could barely stand, his legs deciding that they had been through enough, thank you, and were ready to go on strike.

Facing forward, Min looked at Jae. His shirt rumpled after Min’s ministrations, Jae looked disheveled and debauched, his eyes sending a come hither look. With careful deliberation, Jae let his tongue peek out, licking his lips slowly and teasing Min mercilessly.
Min couldn't help himself. He kissed Jae, but this time, he made it harsh and insistent, a rough invasion of tongue and lip. Jae gripped Min’s hips, his hands marking Min as they rubbed against each other.

“Finally! What were you guys doing anyway?” said Hax.
“Nothing you need to know. I had to clean up some things anyway, so we were down for a bit longer than I expected,” Jae blithely replied.
“Suuure,” Alex nudged Min, who at the moment still resembled a rather bright red tomato.

“Um, I, uh, should probably go soon - I promised Junsu I’d be at his concert…” Min felt slightly claustrophobic with Jae’s friends around. He was surprised that his voice sounded relatively normal.

“You sure?” Jae looked disappointed, but Min felt it was for the best. He quickly squeezed Jae’s hand discretely, waving goodbye to the rest of them. Leaving the common room and closing the door, he was about to open the main door when he felt a hand on his shoulder.

“I don’t want you to feel upset or anything, but we can talk later about what you want to tell other people. But,” and here Jae pressed his lips against Min’s and said in his ear, “I want you to know that I do like you a lot, and would like to spend more time with you.”
Min had closed his eyes, feeling Jae’s lingering touch on his lips. He opened his eyes, saying in a small voice,
“I…I like you too.”
