Friday: Started out normal enough...work school the usual. Then halfway through Band I get calls from my brothers and my mom and jessica all within about 15 min. I waited till the end of class and checked the messages only to find out that something was wrong with my Grandpa and he was in the hospital. I frantically call everyone back getting anwsering machines from everyone execpt Jaman. (my older brother) Friday morning my grandparents were working around the house when my grandfather complained about a severe headache. my Grandma looked at him and saw that his pupils were different sizes and called an ambulance. they loaded him up and on the way to the hospital he had a severe brain anurysm. At the hospital they got him set up on resperators and called the neurologist. they performed a surgery to drain the blood and relieve the pressure on his brain, leaving him an a coma. the family was still waiting more news. After hearing this i broke down in tears. I got home as fast as i could, and ended up going to my brothers house cus they didnt want anymore people at the hospital. My uncles g-ma and dad were already there. my brothers and i went to my cousins house where we all got slightly intoxicated and played some really depressed texas holdem while we waited for news. i eventually went home and slept without actually finding out anything more.
Saturday: Woke up early to go to band rehersal for the causeway game (sac state vs. davis)We lost. big surprise... After the game I went with my dad and brothers to visit my g-pa in the hospital. He had started to have reflexive movement in his arms and legs, and his pupils were dialating. When we got there it was strange. There was my g-pa, the rock of our family, lying on a hospital bed, with 3 tubes sticking down his throat, IVs in both arms, a tube coming out of his head draining blood and spinal/brain fluids, and computer moniters everywhere. we walk in and my dad leans over and brushes his hair back and tells him "hey dad this is steve, im here and i brought my kids. Jamans here, julies here and jeffs here. we came to see you and see how you are doing." I could feel my eyes tearing up. I walked over to the side of the bed and grabed one of his hands and i swear i felt him squeeze back. but it may have been only reflexive. When we first got there i thought i was going to be uncomfortable and not want to stay long, but i would have stayed there all night if my dad hadnt said we should go. It felt so good to sit there and hold his hand and tell him all about the football game and how bad the hornets such this year, knowing that if he was awake he would have gone to the game, and would have agreed with us. we talked to him along time i think we were there an hour, about everything from the football game, to how much we all need him to come back to us. finally my dad said it was time to go and so we left.
Sunday: Moving day. Me and steven finally moved into our new apt. It was exciting to finally have something we can call our own. I was happy to finally move but it just seemed to be a depressing weekend. i do love our new place. you all have to come see it. anywho...I better get going....
later.
