So we stopped by the pet store tonight to get Sid a rat (I got her back from Nyx a month or so ago) and, in the process of looking around, I saw a little gecko in a tub. I thought maybe it was a feeder and I asked the guy if it was or what was going to happen to it. I love little haus geckos, they are super cute.
He tells me it's not a haus gecko, but a
Mediterranean Gecko, very similar. Enuf pet geckos have been let go in the area that they've actually established themselves in the wild. Someone brought this little guy in to show him. He said if I wanted it, he would give it to me. You should know by now what an absolute sucker I am for a free reptile. Yup, 30$ free gecko, can't beat it! So now it's set up in Fish's room, in a largish Kritter Keeper, waiting on a name.
I have rules for naming my herps: snakes (ball pythons at least) must have a name starting with S (Sid, S'Mores, Serendipity, Sugar), geckos must be named from a fairy tale (Rosebush, Rampion), other lizards must have a Z in the name (Wizard, Lizzie, Joze). Following this, this little guy should be named from a Mediterranean myth. Off to Google I go!
