It occurs to me now that even singers can be fanfic writers. Consider Madonna writing songs for the movies she was in; Phil Collins, collaborating with Disney and making a career out of it for time; and Sting writing "Moon over Bourbon Street", after watching Interview With A Vampire.
I do wonder sometimes if the authors I read are famous people, Altho finding out for sure would ruin it, just a little.
I picked up Forever on my feed this season. I was thinking it was very New Amsterdam too. I'll give it the first season before I decide if it's worth following (set up is a necessary evil) but (despite the AWKWARD) I think I like it so far.
I've also picked Selfie (My Fair Lady, modern. Ahhh Amy Pond!), which I don't expect to last, but it's hilarious and cute so far; Scorpion (haven't watched it yet but I really like the commercials); and Gotham (more to see what they could possibly wring a whole series out of than I really expect to like it).
It's possible (and yet, doesn't bother me) that I watch too much tv. On the other hand, I switched to dish, which allows me to tape 5 shows at a time and saves 1000 hrs on the recorder, compared to 2 and 80(?) for cable. I only have 37 shows recording right now. (Masterpiece only counting as 1).
