Busy busy

Spent this weekend at a Chateau de C event, it was very fun and nice to see people and spend time in a smaller social setting. zdude63 and I ended up bunked in his van (I spent part of the drive coming up with amusing names for it: the Beast, the Steel Pavilion, the Mobile Pavilion) on an air mattress. It worked very well, despite being parked on a hill.

We did take a small road trip to a needleworking place in Placerville (Diamond Hills? somewhere) and zdude bought me a couple cross-stitch pieces; they are pirate themed and I'm gonna do them for him so he can hang them up.

Today I come back to work even busier than a normal Monday. It's all good, especially as this is a short week for me. I'm taking off Friday to go to Purgatorio. I'm afraid I might not be done with zdude's white scarf by then, but I'll do it the best as I can. Eyes and fingers-wise, it goes slowly. I'm going to try to get to sleep early all this week, as there is rumored to be much partying to happen at Purg. Oh and also, zdude has signed us up for Great Western War, happening in October. I'm taking that Friday and Monday off work also.

I have many things at home to get done. GMary wants to come see the house and see what needs to be done and what I'm working on and what I've done so far. I told her that I won't be available on weekends, but if she comes by on a weeknight I should be there. I need to get that white scarf stitched and my dress sewn, so next time C the Purple is available, she can show me how to put in a sleeve. It's almost done!

Oh and on the school front, I had a phone conference with Fish's teacher and speech therapist and the school psychologist today. They denied him for the special class. They said that he is coming along well enough and just isn't handicapped enuf to warrant giving him one of the very few spaces in that class. Oh well, I kinda hoped but it's nice to hear good news. His speech therapist is going to increase him from once a week to three times a week tho. We are pressing him at home to speak more and do things for himself more and they say that's a good thing too. And since he's started school he has made up a double handful of words (therapist said a sign of development) and has been using those and real words in full sentence structure, which he never did before school. Also, he's picking up more real words. He asked the other kids to play a game with him on Friday and told them "Good Job!" when they did it right. It was funny!

I'm sure I have more news than this but I'm busy and trying to get things done and am scatter-brained at the moment. Write more if I remember. =)
