SO Christmas Eve was spent with family and kids at my parents'. Everyone got gift cards and much food and wine was taken in.
addellmondegren happened to mention that she and family were going to the movies on Christmas. I said I wanted to go and that was that.
Christmas the blondies were taken up to their father's and Saru stayed at a friend's house. I figured on spending most of the day alone, as
oldwolf is was very sick. But when I texted him that I was going to the movies he said he was well enough. LOL.
It was quite the crowd -
addellmondegren, her husband, step son, mother in law, me and
oldwolf. Good thing she got the tickets ahead of time - we thought we would be some of few at the movies, we were wrong - it was packed! The line was around the block! We hustled in and got seats, the theatre filled up super quick.
We saw Avatar. It was awesome! We only came in for the 2D, not the 3D, but it was soooo good I don't mind at all (3D gives me headaches anyway). I heard that the graphics deserve awards but the storyline was nothing special - I thought it totally was. It was a good storyline, really awesome graphics and seamless interface between the two mediums. Really I've got to get out to the movies more often.
Saw trailers for Clash of the Titans, totally going to see that when it comes out, hopefully. I think I will avoid watching Sherlock Holmes with Robert Downey Jr. Just can't really see him doing that role well.
After the movie, my sister assumed we were staying for dinner, so we did. Turkey and sweet potatoes and yummy food and good company. Rat Man and his wife were there too. I had to run back to my house on an errand afterwards but as we came back we ran into a store to grab ice cream. The guy at the door was so nice! We showed up a minute after closing and he still let us in to grab the ice cream. We had ice cream and pie for dessert.
Saru's birthday was Sunday and I got to go grocery shopping and buy dinner. A good time was had by all and presents are promised at tax time.
My three day weekend was wonderful and I'm looking forward to New Years. I don't usually make resolutions, except to not make any resolutions, but I have made one this year. To have patience and not try to hurry things that don't need hurrying. I like to think that I'm a patient person, but when I really want something to happen, I've found that I try to force the situation and that never ends well.
Namaste and Happy Holidays.
