I'll admit I'm under a LOT of stress: I may not finish everyone's drabbles for the drabble meme. One thing's for sure though, I wanna finish up everyone's requests at sonic_couples, so here's one for spacefox_jen. *nod* Nothing special, just something I wrote a little after a quick run with the doggies outside.

It had to be the warmest words anyone told him lately--by someone who was not too warm himself, as a matter of fact. Shadow had to admit, they WERE close in their short first meeting. One could say they were birds-no. Two edges of the same knife. He was the wind, he was the fire-when Eggman had come to fight them inside the computer, it was HIM that stood up for him. Shadow knew people took advantage of his amnesia, so it was difficult to trust. But someone to put himself forward, to blow off the baloney that was slyly laid in intricate traps, to catch between the lines? He was a master ninja.
Now they were leaving, and Shadow distinctively remembered shaking Espio’s hand, his fingers still trailing as those amber eyes followed him… he did see everything.
