I realize I'm extreeeeeeeeeeeeeeemely late with this. *nod* But I'm gonna be a good girl and take care of the final three drabbles this week, this one being one of them. Kirby and Mety cuteness, for ledgem. I must say going through "Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land" in one sitting for each game has an interesting experience after all the melodrama going on LJ. XDDD;;; So have some adorable non-romantic fluff for a fandom I hadn't written for in... well, I'd say a couple years or so. XDD;;; Whee~!
And I think it's safe to say "Angels" by Within Temptation is SUCH an Eric & Christine song. XDDD;;; But wait, that's offtopic. Then again, so is much of the blurble in this creative LJ. ^^;; For off-topicness: whee for "The Swan Princess"~~~!

Like candy, the sunset hushed its colors across Dream Land, soothing its inhabitants in a warm rainbow. Huddled in a secret corner, however, there was one who wasn't exactly lucky to witness today: outcast from all but what the windows gleamed of yellow light, Meta Knight was still as a statue. But not because the veteran was sore from training--his eyes pallid and his body shivering, the swordsman was dizzy in a sea of star-studded sheets, his cape huddled tightly around his entire self. Sweaty and stuffed up in more than one way, it didn't help it still felt chilly. He closed his eyes, waiting for a rush of tranquility to swell upon his aching head--it would be a matter of days, he thought, before his cold subsides.
He parted an opening through his cape for two heavy coughs--it was then he heard a patter of steps over the light wooden floor of the house, and Kirby had returned. Since then, the pink puff had been doing nothing but favors to his older, blue counterpart, letting him stay in his tiny little home. Much to polite protest, Meta Knight decided he had none other choice--with the Halberd sunk and his crew either disappeared or dead, it would take a while before things were back in order. The veteran soldier felt a light nudge, Kirby holding out a familiar steel mask in his flap-like hand.
"...Thank you." He murmured, accepting the facial armor. His hand fisted in time for another cough outbreak as Kirby waddled out of the house once more, supposedly fetching more things for the sick Meta Knight. With his eyes half-closed, the restlessness was losing its duel with the swordsman, and he settled himself into the blankets once more, albeit, with an irritated turn now and then. Finally, the pain in his head dulled quietly, and Meta Knight allowed himself to rest.

A lovely day passed over the woods, and Dream Land sunk into a land of deep violet and stars and naps. The veteran swordsman stirred, blinking among headache and pondering his delirium as he turned his head to witness the piles and piles of FOOD around him. Cakes, cupcakes, pancakes, and various pastries stacked neatly like toys in a candy store, with the occasional peppermint stick here and there with a cherry or strawberry on top. It was as if someone built an entirely new fortress for him, only crafted of sweets instead of brick. With a sigh, Meta Knight lain back into his pillow, when a crinkle of plastic interrupted his thoughts--his hand groping behind, he pulled out a swirled lollypop, white and pink with a star speckled nearby, and its stick decorated with a rosy ribbon tied to a bow. The veteran half-closed his eyes in reminisce--wasn't this the same candy he thrown to Kirby those few years ago?
But it wasn't all--opening the wrinkled paper card attached to the candy, a crude illustration scribbled itself about the page, a smilie sun and a rainbow laden with color of markers that didn't stay within the lines. Regardless of all that, it was a simple message in kindergarten penmanship that caught the eye of the veteran soldier:
"get wel sun. kirbee"
Nearby, the pink puffball rolled peacefully on the floor, smacking his lips in glee from what was supposed to be the penultimate piece of chocolate cake.
