I'm rereading Angel Sanctuary because... well... After picking up volume 15, I realized that I had started the series something like three years ago and that I had absolutely no idea what was going on. Yeah, so. Over the past two days, I've read through volumes 1 - 15 and found 16 on the web somewhere and read that. (two days, I know!)
I feel like I need to actually own the remaining five volumes, though. I mean, it was my very first manga, after all. I feel a bit sentimental just thinking about it.
Anyway, you could probably expect some AS icons in the near future (hopefully).
Oh, and I decided that Viz is annoying. How can I put this... they're very inconsistent in their translating. For example, referring to the character Lil as "Lil" and then later on, referring to her as "Riru". I mean, I'm aware that it's simple a difference in pronunciation between the cultures, but they could at least keep it consistent by using the same name, you know. And also... way too many "typoes", if I'm allowed to call them that. =P
I have similar annoyances with Death Note. People out there piss and moan that the main character's name is "Raito" and not "Light", when in reality, both are technically true. I'm pretty sure, however, that it was the mangaka's intention for his name to be Light, since I've read in a couple places that it was how she/he? wanted it to me translated. "Raito" is simply the pronunciation of "Light" in the Japanese tongue. Or something.
(Warning: I'm about to spoil the shit out of Death Note.)
I finished Death Note like... a couple of weeks ago and just... wow. I had not expected it to end like that. I mean, I didn't really know how it would end, and when you think about it, it makes sense that it would end that way, but still, just... wow. Crazy.
I mean, when L died, I was so dumbfounded! But then I got to liking Near (don't really know why). I wasn't all too fond of Mello until he got the shit blown out of his face and stopped caring about his hair... which sounds kind of sadistic when I say it like that... but I was a bit sad when he died. Oh yeah, and Misa. I seriously expected her to die at some point in the time span of the manga, just because of the fact that she split her lifespan in half twice over the span of the story.
Actually, the eye-trade thing had me confused for a while. At first, I was thinking something like... Lets say someone who is 18 is suppose to live for 80 years. This person gives up half their lifespan and they would be left living until they are 40, right? But then I thought about it a bit more and realized that giving up half of your lifespan could mean giving up half of your remaining years of life, right? In which case, said person would live until they are 31, right? Or something like that. Math is my weakest point.
I'm still a bit confused by it, especially when sitting down and thinking about it like this. *shrug* I dunno.
(End spoiler, I suppose)
I like Hellsing. It's just so cool. Alucard is so badass, and I love how Victoria's character has such a clear development throughout the show. So far I've only seen through 10 of the 13 episodes, but I'll get to it eventually, =P I want to read the manga at some point, too.
I wish I would have tried harder to watch Trinity Blood. So does Father Nightroad die, or what? I thought he was a vampire? *shrug*
That's all... I suppose I'm done now. and sorry if there are typos in here - I didn't skim through it or anything after I was done.
