Remember when i wrote earlier about DeWine and Chafee?
http://www.livejournal.com/users/azure_haze/33507.html Well, lookee what we have here...
"But Senator Lindsey Graham, Republican of South Carolina, fired back Sunday, saying that if the Democrats staged a filibuster against Judge Alito or Judge Luttig because of their conservatism, "the filibuster will not stand."
aaaaaaaaand...
"I can't believe anyone would believe this is a nominee that could be filibustered or that it would rise to the level of 'extraordinary circumstances,'" said DeWine, one of 18 Senate Judiciary Committee members who will hold confirmation hearings on Alito. "If someone would filibuster, though, I would be prepared to vote to change the rules."
Since Miers withdrew, and Alito (Scalito in legal circles) was selected... I have to tell you, I am completely ecstatic! This promises to be a serious rumble. The question is, will Dems take their place in the back of the bus like they deserve to as the minority, or will they try to fight and get shot down with the nuclear option? I don't hold out for much in the way of rationality from them, so expect the nuclear trigger to be pulled. But they may surprise me.
