I received my notebook last weekend. The keyboard is faulty and the USB port is as well. Lovely. I report this to Bruce, who whenever someone else has problems with their computers, attempts to get them fixed up in some way. Instead, I get a ration of shit for wanting my notebook's keyboard to function properly. He hands me a splitter for an external keyboard and mouse. He spends the rest of the time wondering why I would want a notebook in the first place for Web Design work.
Um, let me see. I can think of a few reasons: I need to keep my shit organized, I need to keep my shit mobile, and I'd rather be able to carry all the settings I need in order to access the stuff I need to with me at all times. Not to mention the fact that I have absolutely no space for the laptop at home if I have to have an external keyboard and mouse. That's like having another PC entirely, which sort of defeats the purpose of a notebook in the first place, doesn't it?
I guess it wouldn't bother me, except nobody else has ever had to go through this. I mean really, if someone else said "Hey, my shit don't work," they'd be falling all over themselves to fix it, let alone spend a crappy $50 or so to get it fixed. But this is me we're talking about. *grumble*
I just guess it would have been nice to have a fully functional computer, but that's too much to ask for. I'll make due with what I have for now, and we'll see. I figure if I'm going to spend my time dealing with all this horseshit, there has to be a pony around somewhere.
