Yeah... so I need to update and stuff
To everyone that missed me - I'm sorry that I haven't been updating. To the random surfers - I'm sorry this post is such a friggen LJ post. :P
So... Work. Yeah. It's work. For those of you who have been following Asturias and my posts you know that the company has rapidly become Innitech from Office Space. D, you ain't missin' much.
On the upside, we have apparently reached the retention turning point and are hiring qualified peeps (read as you need a degree and 4 years XP just to get an interview) and the last few Houston hires have been rock solid. On the downside, it's a full fledged real job where there are always deadlines, never enough employees, and nothing you do is good enough. Yay.
In a bit of irony The Director of CS got canned for conspiring with 4 others to lie to a client for 3 months about a problem. The aftermath? The client dropped us (contract = 6 figures) and the fix took a Houston employee an hour to fix. Fuckin' typical.
The 4 others? Nothing doing... Again typical. Asturias, one of those 4 has the initials PH. If you ever heard you sis-in-law, your bro, or JC you know what a fuckin' weasel that one is.

Life out side of work. Good. Busier than I can comprehend, but good. So much growing up in such a short time.
I have a girlfriend. I'm still trying to work out how that happened, but I'll be damned... it happened! She is sweet, she is sooo amazingly cute... I mean... just... damn, and she likes geeky white boys. Yay. :p
She got me bass lessons for Christmas. After the second lesson I realized that I'm gonna have to dump about 70% of what I learned over the least year and a half. Yay.
To anyone who has never picked up an instrument. Start. Start now. I mean it. I waited until 27. My only regret... waiting for so long. Every single time you practice or listen to a song you learn something. Every time you world becomes richer and more colorful. It rocks. Frethack.. I finally get 1-4-5... um... sort of. :P
PS to Frethack. As I type, I am listening to Dream Evil - The Book of Heavy Metal. Yeah. Friggen cheeze. On the other hand Porcupine Tree ricks. Check out Avenged Sevenfold, Coheed and Cambiria, and NOFX - The Decline.
