Which DCU giant should I take on next, I wonder. I have a spot available in my roster at
jla_watchtower. I have been trying to spread the characters I play around the alphabet - a list can be seen here :
http://the-ambush-bug.livejournal.com/1349.html#cutid1 I could bring L-Ron or the Question in. I already play them elsewhere. L-Ron doesn't have a lot of compelling story opportunities, though, and I play two characters who are close to the Question, so that would lead to a lot of talking to myself.
The remaining letters are EFHJMNOTUVWXYZ.
Some possibles, and the pros and cons -
Elongated Man - Love the character. I worry that I will have too many guys on the JLA if I pick him up, though. Good story potential.
Firestorm - Less story potential than Elongated Man, but another favorite character of mine. Same drawback - taking up too much of the JLA. Could put him on our Titans East team, though.
Felix Faust - Villains are always handy to have. I don't know what kind of character arc I could give him, though.
Hourman I - Rex Tyler as a retired superhero, letting Rick carry on the family name. Fun concept, but I don't know if would work for the long term.
Jack O'Lantern - I'd love for us to have some Ultramarines/Global Guardians action, but.. I kinda bet I'm alone on that score.
M's got a plethora of options : Will Magnus, T.O. Morrow, Mirror Master, Metamorpho and the Martian Manhunter, just as a top five. I could have enormous fun playing the first two, but crafting longterm arcs could be challenging. Mirror Master is great, but I do play Kid Flash. Metamorpho is a strong contender, especially since we have Black Lightning and Geo-Force now. And we definitely need a Martian Manhunter, but the issue of taking up too much of the JLA comes up again.
Nemesis I - Tom Tresser kicks ass.
Owlman - Might be hard to find regular RP if he's all lonely in the anti-matter universe.
Olsen, Jimmy - On the other hand, Jimmy could really get into some zany stuff.
The Top - I'm been temping this Flash rogue, and he's fun, but I don't know about longterm stories, and we come back to the issue of me playing Kid Flash..
Thunder, Jakeem - I don't have a JSAer. I don't want to pick up Alan (I play Hal) or Jay (I play Bart). Jakeem could be a good option. On the other hand, the character doesn't really do much for me.
Trickster I - James Jesse. I'd have to un-reform him, though, to really cut loose and have fun. See also the Flash Rogue problem.
Uncle Sam - If we had, like, even one other Freedom Fighter in the game, he'd be very appealing.
Ultra-Humanite - I love the concept. But I already play Vandal Savage. So my JSA villain quota is filled.
Vigilante - Greg Saunders. Do you know how few characters start with 'V'?
Amanda Waller, Weather Wizard, Wildcat.. Zoom, Zod..
ETA: None of the above. I opted for Jay Garrick, The Golden-Age Flash, taking the 'F' spot in my list.
