[Lillian's eyes widen with pleasant surprise at all the pictures. Clothing certainly has changed since 1934. The modest, sleek cuts are so much more appealing than many of the fashions today.]

Dear Eleanor,

I'm glad that I'm not alone in that feeling. It is very exciting. It isn't very often one has the opportunity to exchange letters with a person in a different time period.

Septembers are as chilly as always. Times are unfortunately hard. A few years ago, the economy receded, leading to many losing their homes and jobs. Some compare our financial woes to those of the Great Depression but I don't think the hardships the poor face in our time are nearly as those faced in yours.

Thank you for the pictures. They're very informative. I think I prefer the clothing of your time period to the majority of what's available in ours. I would love to see more.

It isn't, actually. Those are commonly worn by the public. I don't have a lingerie catalogue but I could probably find one if you're curious about how sleepwear has changed.

Love,

Lillian Taylor
