[OOC] Character Relations

Reminder for those who need it: Lillian is in the 2012 group and in 11th grade. She skipped a grade in elementary so she's a year younger than most juniors and the same age as most sophomores.

She's pretty quiet and usually just minds her own business. She's not unfriendly or even a loner, exactly, just not one to chat idly with people or easily initiate conversation. On the other hand, she's really tolerant and nice. She'll hear anyone out and seldom refuses a request that's asked of her, no matter how demanding or unreasonable it is (she will politely decline a request that's asked of her if it's harmful, physically or otherwise to herself, or someone else).

On the surface, she can come across as a little unapproachable or intimidating because she's so sincere. She's a lot more observant and sensitive than she lets on. She empathizes with people very easily (but doesn't always sympathize with them). She's opened up some since her first year at Adessi Hall but is still pretty wallflowerish and more inclined to hovering on the fringes of activities and groups than charging in headfirst. She's very quiet in groups.

A lot of the time she seems to be in her own world and barely aware of anything that's going on around her but when she gets called on in class, she always knows the answer to the question the teacher is asking. There could be a food fight in the cafeteria and she wouldn't visibly react to it unless the food came close to hitting her and then she'd simply move without any fuss. She usually sits toward the rear of the classroom but never in the very back and always in the aisle closest to the window. If there isn't a window, she sits in the aisle closest to the door. If there's assigned seating, she'll sit in whatever seat she's assigned.

She's a creature of habit just a bit; she's camped out at the same table in the lunchroom since she was a freshman, always studies at the same table in the school library, and has a favorite shade tree on campus she likes to sit under while she reads, does her homework, or draws. She likes peoplewatching and sketching random people she thinks look interesting. She gets flustered when people try to peek in her sketchbook, especially if it's someone she's drawn before.

Most of her classes are either AP level for her grade or classes she takes with seniors except for her gym class in which she's the only junior surrounded by a bunch of sophomores and freshmen. She really sucks at most sports (examples: jumping out of way of a soccer ball while playing goalie, sitting down on the grass when she's supposed to be playing outfield during baseball games, tiring quickly, getting herself out early in dodgeball, etc) and is usually the last one picked for teams. She's good at short races and fencing because she's agile and has good reflexes but that's pretty much it. She tutors people in exchange for favors that she seldom cashes in on instead of money; her parents send her a monthly allowance which she saves up in a lock box under her bed in her dorm room.

The fact she's a year younger than the majority of her classmates isn't something she advertises. She'll reluctantly admit she skipped a grade if someone asks her about it directly. Lillian simply doesn't have confrontations; her permanent record is pretty much spotless without so much as a detention.

A few other things of note: she'll let anyone sit with her regardless of who they are or their repuation and she'll be polite to them. She holds up lines at fast food places and in the cafeteria unless she knows exactly what she wants beforehand; otherwise, she frets over the menu. Some of her artwork is visible in student displays throughout the school.

As for 1934 folks, she'll be a very willing, frequent penpal and treat them with the same consideration she'd treat people in her own time. If she becomes a friend, she'll send cards, presents, art, letters, etc.

I think that's pretty much it. I'm open to pretty much anything, really. :D;
