Large craft post...heavy on the images...and the craftiness.

I've been promising to make a big craft post and here it is. I couldn't recall all the stuff I have made in the last 7 months but, here about half of it. When I find the rest of it, I will post it.

Veggie Bracelet

Veggies, from left to right, are Mushroom, Celery, Chili Pepper, Onion, Corn, Raddish, Peas in a pod, Eggplant, Lettuce, Carrot, Tomato, and Potato. They are made from shinkable plastic. They are attached to the hobby twist chain with handmade double looped jump rings. The clasp is a lobster clasp and is attached to the chain with 2 double looped jump rings. I drew, colored, cut out and hole punched the charms before baking. The charms are coated with 2 coats of a clear acrylic sealer on the side that I colored. I used colored pencils to draw and color the veggies.

Curved earrings with beads
I saw similar earrings at Walmart yesterday made a packing tape trip to there. I decided I could make them myself and I did. These are pretty close to the ones I saw. I think I did ok for the first pair of earring that I have made in a long time. There is always room from improvement but that will just take practice. I think I'm going to stop purchasing earrings for a while since I can make most of the styles myself and add my own style to them.

The top is a fish hook style earring with two double looped jumprings. The second jump ring has the 4 curved wires with loops at both ends. The bottom of each wire loop has a purple metalic bead that is threaded through a top looped head pin. i think I still need to fix the curves so the beads show better and the earrings are symmetrical.

My camo skirt

I had this old pair of micro shorts that I never planned to wear again so I opened the crotch of them and altered them to make the top part of the skirt. The bottom is 3 layers of fluff. Green camo mesh, green tulle and Camo lining.

Alex's camo skirt

Alex's has 6 layers. Camo Mesh, green tulle, camo lining, army green lining, silver tulle and green cotton with helicopter and star print. A camo print ribbon creates the gathers and ties to secure the skirt to the waist. There are pink pony beads at the ends of ribbon to prevent it from going back through the holes and for an accent color.

My Rainbow skirt
I made this for Alex's b-day party/ Mother's Day. It has tulle layers in between the top striped layer and the bottom white cotton layer. The white cotton is to prevent the tulle from itching me. teh skirt looks much better on and tyed/styled right. The wide waist band isn't so wide when I scrunch it down the tie it at the side.

Alex's Rainbow skirt

I made Alex one too. She has more layers that me and hers is just a multi layered simple gathered skirt. Her's has pink satin ribbon and teal pony beads tied to the ends to prevent the ribbon from going back into the holes.

Gathered skirt

This is just a really basic gathered skirt. Nothing complicated about this one. I've just gatherered it to the back for the photos. This is how I wear this one. There isn't much fullness to it so it makes a nice bustle in the back when all the gathers are shifted to the back of the skirt.

Jacket
This Jacket was made to go with the dress below. I added the collar and cuffs to the existing pattern with some left over fleece from the dress below.

Dress

I made this from a basic kids dress pattern. I used an old fleece shirt for the fabric. I never wore it because I could never fit my head in the hole. That and it bleed all over everything. I washed it severely before I made it into her dress. The flowers, buds and leaves are made of felt. I used a basic needlepoint stitch for the design. I wanted it to be orgainic looking. The design is of cherry blossoms a branch. There will be many more needlepoint art in the near future. It is something that I would love to learn to do better. I learned some basic stuff and was doing it well long before I could machine sew well. I have alot of christmas presents that are going to require hand sewing. I'm going to have to get those pressure gloves for my achey hands and a good thimble

Asian Jacket

I made this to go with 2 other pieces I made out of stretch velvet. The 2 other pieces are a long sleeve round neck top with a loop button keyhole closure in the back and basic long pants with an elastic waist. This Jacket is lined in the same stretch velvet fabric as the pants and top. The velvet provides warm and comfort as well as luxury. I alter the pattern of the jacket used in the above jacket. I flared the sleeves and made it cross over. The decorative fabric was difficut to work with but well worth the effort. The Print is of cherry blossoms on their branches...note the cherry theme to some of the clothing...there will be more of that in other pieces I make. I muddled the buttons. i think I was in a rush but I don't think many people would notice. The inside flap missing buttons is secured with velcro pieces. I plan to replace the buttons and add a row to the velcro side. I currently do not have enough of the existing ones to add another row. Even with the muddle the jacket is still very nice. i have hand stitched a blanket stitch all around the edges. That helps keep the fabric laying flat where the velvet and silk meet. Also adds another hand made quality to the jacket.

Purple Leopard Hoodie
This one is also a slightly altered pattern but, I'm not sure there was much altering. I think I just switched the hood to the jacket pattern I had used for the first jacket. I made pants to match, but I have them in a pile of stuff to fix because I did nto make the elastic small enough.
