2016 Rewind

Dec 25, 2016 11:17

The weather feels warm all of a sudden, even though it was freezing cold just yesterday.

Last night I was up all night talking with my sister and slept at sun rise. I woke up at 12 in the afternoon, talked again then slept from 2 until 6 pm. Now that's a messed up sleeping hours but I actually needed that. Anyhow, just like last year, I'll write a post about how my 2016 went with all the events that happened and how much I kept up with my resolutions.

I must say that as every year gets more complicated, I too learn a lot of stuff, get stronger and discover new things. The moving to a new house was probably the biggest highlight of 2016. At the beginning of the year things were going straight but the middle was a chaos and now as we are heading toward the end things are falling into order again. Despite all the surprises, we were able to go to all the events as well planned: Janadriyah festival, Spring festival, World Luxury Expo, Landmark park hangout, Travel & Tourism Exhibition, Sports Exhibition, Zai's Shabaniyah, Malaz Park hangout, Coffee & Chocolate Exhibition. Among the new things that happened this year was; getting my credit card (which I haven't used until now) and trying an online marketing.

As for the resolutions I wrote at the beginning for the year:

1) Advanced Pilates: this whole time I did my workouts in the beginninger's position, on my knees and skipped the jumping parts. This year, I'm planning to go full mood in pilate's position, which is to lift your head, neck and shoulder when you do any workout on your back. I'll also do the rest of the moves on my toes. Hopping and jumping are triggers for me, so I'll go easy but I'll still be doing them.

(Done. It was actually between easy & hard. Because I'm doing pilates for a long time some of them were doable others almost left me breathless. I stopped doing it when we were moving & got back when we settled but in beginner's position.)

2) DIY Projects: the amount of felt plushies I've made are very satisfying to the point that I think it's time for me to do another handcraft. I'm not leaving felt behind, I'll just do them less and focus on a new craft. I'm aiming to doll house and its stuff since it's caught my interest lately. It's a tough mission but this should be exciting to try.

(Beside the 2 embroidery, I did absolutely nothing! To be honest, I hardly had any time or even mood to do it.)

3) Japanese + English: I think I have delayed long enough already and it's time to do serious speaking practice. I promise myself I'll do it this year, even if it's little - I just need it to get started already. Free writing will also be practiced, I've done it last year but it wasn't enough. So, I'll make sure I do a great progress this year. Same to practicing English speaking.

(Done! Even though it wasn't 100% but both of them had enough practice)

4) Natureal Beauty: in the mess of finding a new job, this was not accomplished at all. I'm really hoping for a good job so I can take care of myself using natural stuff. And I need that facial massage badly.

(I don't even wanna talk about it!!!)

5) Books: okay, this is completely new. I'm still at a the beginning so I won't say I'll a read crazy amount of books cause honestly, that WILL NOT happen. I know myself very well. I'll just read as many as I can and see how I did at the end of the year.
laralbagoury will be doing a challenge, and if I am able I might join her.

(Prabably the one I'm most proud of. I had a goal of reading 10 books and see how I do. I was amazed to know I finished 25 books at the end. The new number will be my challenge for the next year. Also, I noticed that I like reading supernatural more than any other types)

Okay, that is it. There's bitter, there's sweetness and sour too. So, I'll say it was a good year after all.
Happy holidays everyone =)
