It's been a while since the last time I made a plush post about my felt works.
Well, today will be about a very speical work I made and the first of it's kind. It will be about this couple.
Mazzyoon & Jamilah ~ ♥
You know how it goes. I'll post about them, how I made and the speical features they have.
This is the first male doll I've made. His name is Mazzyoon, it means handsome in Arabic slang. He has a wire in his arms, legs and neck so they can move and be posable. There are buttons where his arms & legs meet with the body. The hair was somewhat hard to do. It was a bit painful while sewing cause I was using a small needle to attach it to the head. Turned very pleasing. I tried to sew it in a way to give it a shape. It looks like a heart shape if you noticed. His shirt was actually my brother's old shirt & the pants are his too. Talk about recycling.
This one here is Jamilah, means pretty in Arabic as well. She has the same structure as the boy. The hair (again) was the real pain. Making hair in any doll is always hard for me but I'm learning to improve. See the bun on her head?! It's removable. It's actually attached with a pin. It took me a lot of twisting to make it. Her hair is actually long, I kept it up so it will give an illusion to a bun. If I want to change the style I can easily remove the bun/pin then let the rest of her hair down. I know the dress is kinda messy at the back, but hey! I tried.
And since they are a couple I tried to make them similar as possible. They have the same shoes, some crystals on the girl. Same shirt, the hands are small as well. I also put the height in consider and made the girl a bit shorter than the boy. Some pins as an earrings for her. At first I wanted to make them chibi style where the head is big and the rest are small, the it occured to me as a bad idea since that will work only in clay stuff and this is felt, I need them to be standing. That's why the boy has smaller feet than the girl. But at this point it was okay, I didn't do the same thing to the girl.
And then comes a DIY project for the doll. I kinda have this thing with almost every doll I made. This time I made a rocking chair for the girl which I found on pinterest, you can see the pin/DIY from [
here]. If you look closely you'll know what I made this from. Yup. They are laundry clips. I just took out the metal thing than glued the rest and added a color. Voala! Little projects like these are really cool to make, I have pinned some similar one, if you wish to view them you can check
my board.
Since my dolls have wires inside them, they are perfect in making vides. Here are 3 stopmotion clips I made for them - each is around 10 seconds long. And there are a shot for them with the fluffy creatures ♥
