So, as I mentioned before my previous and first doll ( Misty) went down and didn't go well. I spent many nights making it. It was my first try and I was expecting some mistakes but for the whole thing to go down after skipping many precious workout was a bit too much. I had to accept that but was feeling upset. Thankfully the day I was doing a challenge workout out Cassey said something that inspired me a lot - she said that to break or overcome a fear from something you must do EXACTLY what you are afraid of so that you know it's thing to it and it'll make you stronger. When I finished that workout I pulled myself and all the positive inside me: "it's okay to make mistakes! We learn from it!", "Try and try again till you get it!", "First one was lesson, the second one will nail it!" and so I began and make the pattern, cut it out into felt, sew, stuff and it was done! The first one took many days but for this one to be done in one night was a woohoo for me!
Then I moved to the dress and make it simple as possible, because I had to do out few times it took like from 2 to 3 days and lastly made the hair, face and shoes. It's completely done now. WOW! By doing this experience I learned a lot. The redo and the doll itself.
Please ignore the background and that thing she's standing on is my brother's wallet. I just had to level her somehow. An approximately 8 inch tall doll, long black hair and really simple face features. Didn't pick up a name yet but that's pretty much it.
When I was going through this journey I learned many things...
- Learned how to make kimono, cause that was Misty's dress - How to make dress and its basic, went through a lot of tutorials - Many many hair styles and how to shape one on doll or really head - It's takes time for things to happen and be success in, I just gotta be patience - Mistakes happen, I just have to accept and move on - Failing is the best way of learning on your own - I also knew and learned many techniques for making doll - Saw tons of creative ideas just by searching for doll related stuff - You can do much much much MUCH more than you can ever imagine - Studied the face features - How to get stuff and manage in hard times - How to get creative in making dresses
Well, this is as much as I can think of right now, there are still some mistakes in this one too but believe me it's way better than the first one which - by the way - got cut back into its basic. Yeah, I took the body apart, the stuffing and put them back to where to was, the felt and stuffing. I'm happy for how it's turned this time, next will be my little elephant plushie. Just fallen in love with one while searching for inspiration for dolls.
