A Newbie

Hi everyone,
Well, I'm new here. Wow! I can actually talk with people who aren't astranged to Tenchu, and they will know when I say something Tenchu related.

Okay, so i thought that since I am here, I'd leave my thoughts on all the Tenchu games I have played.

Tenchu: Stealth Assassins
I first played this 7 years ago, and I gotta say it was a lot of fun (especially with the deranged cultists.) It took me a while to defeat the game (from start to finish, all levels, etc) But when I did, I was proud of myself. The cheats are a lot of fun as well (don't tut at me.) Watching Rikimareu run around like a woman or that butt-chaffing armour of Ayame's. Who comes up with this stuff? Not to mention the fun we have when it comes to lines like 'My dear Sista' or the introduction to the training. Lucky me worked out a way to drown Kiku, which I was happy with.

Tenchu 2: Birth of the Stealth Assassins.
One saying came to mind that me and my house-mates share frequently when playing this game. 'Their masks are on too tight.' When it comes to being observant, this game failed badly. Don't mind the waggling swords or the hand sticking out of the side of the wall or the ninja hanging in between the support rain beams, it is normal. I always have the same problem with this game, and that is the mist is too thick to play it properly. But the challenge was good enough, just the lack of music was irritating. Ayame and her little black dress is also another laugh.

Tenchu Three: Wroth of Heaven.
When I first played this game, my jaw dropped. The graphics were a lot better, less 2D as Tenchu 2 was and the levels were challenging again. the music was also a great joy. They are more observant, but by Gods the set-up of some places (Like the Amagai Castle) make me wonder how these people get around. The two player was also a good idea... too bad that me and my friends have clocked the levels so many times, it is more fun to kill rather than protect Lord Ghoda and pissfart around than to do it properly.

Tenchu Four: Fatal Shadows
I am still trying to tie up some lose ends on this game, like a few uncompleted map layouts and 2 attempts of completing Red Blade with Rin. But on the general whole, it is a lot of fun, and the characters are good and have personalities. And I can complete the game on 'Hard' without armour on, because the idea that those designs will actually protect you is stupid, especially for Rin. And those bald guys look like they are wearing nappies (that are a little full, if you get my drift.)

In the end, I am glad I picked up Tenchu all those years ago. I amn looking forward to the newer tenchu games of Tenchu (that I don't have the facilities to play ATM) and to play more hard levels and have a lot more fun with the admiring of kills and the difficulty of the levels. Hope to hear form you soon,
shikishinobi
