I met with a surgeon and confirmed it. My gallbladder needs to be removed, and I'm not a good candidate for non-surgical treatments. The only question is when to have the surgery. I'd like to do it before the end of this year, as I am getting really, really tired of trying to avoid a gallbladder attack. Right this very minute I'm sitting here feeling mild pain and nausea, and I have no idea what I ate in the last 48 hours to bring this on. This sucks. But at least I know what it is. This is very definitely my gallbladder acting up. The pain is very localized in that exact spot.
I'm so tired of fruit and raw vegetables. My anti-attack diet is definitely starting to take a toll on me.
So now it's just a question of scheduling surgery. It's looking like work is going to keep me busy until the first week of December, between even more people leaving, new staff to train, and the question of whether we can get replacements right away for the people who are leaving. You know what, though, the patent partner told me that my health comes first and I should schedule the surgery when I need to schedule it, and the firm will just deal with my absence for a week, whenever that week may be. It's good to know that they're supportive.
Our main computer here at home is down, at least with regard to the Internet. It's hooked up to a cable modem, which is hooked into a network hub in the basement, and this weekend a pipe sprang a leak and began streaming water onto the hub at irregular intervals. So, no cable internet for now. It's a nuisance because my music theory software is loaded onto the main computer, and I need an Internet connection to work with it. I'll have to try reloading the software onto the laptop and hope that the software company doesn't block me from re-registering it. We still have dial-up on the desktop, but I need a fast connection. Getting everyone in the house to go wireless might solve the hub problem, but we're not sure that the upstairs neighbor's computer is up to it. It's frustrating because the landlord said that he fixed the problem, but obviously he only thought he did. This house.
