The final debate

So, did you watch the debate?

We didn't watch most of it, actually. We wanted to see the season finale of "Project Runway." I won't spoil it for anyone, but it was good. After that was over, we flipped to NBC and watched the last part of the debate. We came in during the health care discussion. Forty-five seconds into it, Chris rolled his eyes, uttered an oath, and left the room, and I started laughing, because seriously? Forty-five seconds? That has to be some kind of a record for walking out on a presidential debate! But I was mistaken; he had just gotten up to throw something away. It was more interesting than I expected it to be, but then I went over to Twitter and pulled up Hack the Debate, and that was enormously entertaining. If you didn't know, Twitter was broadcasting the debate and flashing people's simultanous comments across the bottom of the screen. Now that was interesting - seeing America weigh in on the debate as it was happening. Hi, 21st century!

I think that we can all agree that Joe the Plumber won tonight's debate. Joe, here's to you. Also, is it just me, or did any of you hear the country heave a collective sigh of relief when the moderator pointed out that this was the FINAL debate? This is one part of the electioneering that is over. Hurrah.

Ooh. I was actually going to blog about the debate itself, but my eyes just glazed over from exhaustion. Whatever. I decided months ago who I was voting for, so tonight didn't change my mind. I do feel a little better about Obama than I did before. Chris is even more horrified by him than before. No surprises in our household tonight.
