Mothers On The Line nightowl301 May 11 2003, 14:11:56 UTC
I haven't developed an opinion on that yet. I just heard it today. I think if a woman can pass the same tests as men at the same level and intensity, they oughtta be able to fight on the lines if they want to.

As for mothers, there's a difference b/w mothers and fathers though. I think there's like a psychic or somethign bond b/c mothers and children. LIke that 6th sense. I've heard so many stories where mothers get this "feeling like theres somehtign wrong" and then they find out somehtign bad happened to their kid. So, I could see maybe making an exception where a mother doesn't have to fight in a combat situation. They allow for people who are Jehovah's Witnesses and other people who don't believe in fighting wars to serve the military in a non-combat way. Maybe allow someone whos a mother w/ children that option.

Of coruse its unfair to men. Hmmm, but men don't have babies and don't have to go through 9 months of pain, morning sickness, not being able to drink alcohol or smoke, a kicking baby keeping you up at night, and delivering it. I don't know... Just thinking...
