Also, the only thing I know about The Hunger Games books is that, somewhere along the line, Katniss decides that pants are unnecessary and spends an awful lot of time not wearing them. Just so you know, guys who made the film, that would have made me more willing to watch it.

Had that been true, I would have had a slightly less horrid time reading the sequels.

I'll openly admit that it could be an exaggeration, but that's the assumption I made upon listening to a guy in a youtube video. It probably helped that the idea of such a spate of nudity in a Young Adult novel amused me, so I was more likely to go along with it.

The Hunger Games talk comes towards the end of the video at about 9:45, but the rest of the video is rather interesting and even has some complaints about youtube in there if you're so inclined. The guy annotated the book and read out lines from the book, so his points have merit in that sense. I've not read it so I can't say myself it's true, but I trust the guy not to just make this up.

But yeah, I completely forgot he's 100% right about Katniss being naked so often before the Games in the first book. There's a lot of stripping down these 12-18-year-olds to groom/dress them, and a lot of these less-than-legal teenagers are forced to go out on parade for the whole country to see in "costumes" that sometimes just consist of body paint. But then, it's also canon for winners of the games to them be forced into prostitution, so.

I am so down for Rainbow Dash reads 50 Shades of Grey. :D

The original fic is apparently a parody in of itself, centred around shipping and how writers change the personalities of the characters to suit the needs of the fic (which was explained in the video so I don't know why I feel the need to reiterate it) I haven't read the fic either, but I know the guy can handles scripts considering the videos he's put out and I read this really good article of his about character development, so I assume he's a competent writer.

Also, The Hunger Games sounds depressing xD I know there's this whole dystopia thing going on, but still...

Sadly, the reading 50 Shades of Grey thing was a joke, but to be perfectly honest, I'd listen to anything if he was reading it in his Rainbow Dash voice xD
