Re, Simpsons, "The Book Job":

My reactions to the latest episode of the Simpsons, in chronological order:

1. Yeeeeah, marketing and publishing are kinda like that. Only acquisitions tends to be a bit more subjective, particularly if you're sending material to a lit agent. (Do we need to go back to the article I shared in September where the agents were all like, "WE CHOOSE BOOKS THAT SPEAK TO US"?)

2. SQUEE, NEIL GAIMAN.

3. SQUEE, NEIL GAIMAN MAKING TUNA SALAD.

4. Lisa successfully portrays the author mid-NaNoWriMo throughout this episode.

5. SQUEE, NEIL GAIMAN BETR-- oh wait.

6. LOLing forever.

Yeah, I really don't care if people say he's a mediocre writer. I still adore his books to serious levels. (I've yet to read The Graveyard Book, though. And the majority of Sandman. Not going to lie, Sandman is the reason why I'm thinking of getting a Kindle. So many volumes! Nowhere to put them! I have no regrets!)

If you're interested in more Gaiman being awesome, I'd also like to suggest this episode of Arthur. Yes, Arthur. But it's so good, and for those of you still working on NaNo, it's got some pretty cool advice.

And that's my last post of the day, I swear. Knowing these patterns, you probably won't hear from me for another week or something.

!fandom: other, don't you have something better to do
