Man, but I feel horrible for Percy and the two babies he lost but maybe his bitterness is affecting how he sees John and Sherlock?

I think it is, yes. Percy's a mess of hormones at the moment and grief and the shock of losing the bond (which didn't happen with Trevor or the others). He really is glad for John - or will be, when he's had a little bit of time to heal. He and John are both coming out of really difficult weeks, for vastly different reasons; neither of them are quite able to comfort the other, but at least they both know and understand that. Hence the beer.
