And in other news, I found Andrew's first tick this morning. Everything they tell you about ticks making you lethargic? NOT TRUE. Well, not in Andrew's case, anyway. He was up at 6.30. I trust you pressed it and are planning a nice scrapbook page?! I wonder whether there is a market for 'baby's first tick/flea/headlouse' boxes to go alongside those for first curls and teeth... I can picture them now - silver with model creepycrawlies on the lid...

We don't have many ticks here, but from what I've heard they are tricky to extract without the head breaking off. Is this true, and did you manage to keep Andrew still enough to do the deed?

Honestly, I jut pried it up with my thumbnail and plucked it off. I have no idea if I got the head or not - didn't look like there was anything still attached to Andrew, and he didn't seem to feel a thing. (Keeping him still was a bit of a challenge.) And the tick definitely was wiggling after I pulled it off. I flushed it, but I seem to recall something about how you're supposed to douse them in vinegar or something to really kill them. NO IDEA, and I didn't have time for research this morning so I'm going to do that now.

SHOOT. And there's space in his baby book for Baby's First Tick and everything..... *grin*
