Dear Vera,
When faced with a mid-level, power-hungry, slightly skeevy bureaucrat who admits to being in way over his head, it's probably not the wisest of ideas to start yelling about how you're going to see him prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law before he rots in jail for the rest of his life which is now going to be exceedingly long. This is especially not a good idea when you're in an isolated area, and there's a lackey with a gun nearby.
It's not that I don't think you weren't intelligent, Vera, nor that I don't mourn your passing. It just wasn't one of your finer moments.

On a lighter note, pretending that Rex was your boyfriend was an excellent send-off. Considering where he ended the episode, poor man.
