Day 1: Discuss how you got into Harry Potter:
02. Your favorite book. - Tie: PoA/DH
03. What house would you be in? - Ravenclaw
04. Your favorite movie - PoA

05. Wizard Rock: discuss

I don't listen to it. I saw a few of the Wrock bands play at the conventions I went to (yes, I went to conventions, shut up), and I enjoyed them, but I was equally amused by the Wrock groupies. The lyrics were clever, I liked that it was original music, but I don't exactly pop in a CD and listen to it just because. (And not all Wrock bands were created equal. One band, Harry and the Potters, was excellent. One, named after another popular character who will go unnamed, was just wretched. He played for us during one of the actual conventiony things, and it was so wretched, that when Bill called during the performance, I thanked him for interrupting, because until my phone rang, I couldn't think of a way to gracefully sneak out.)

Andrew slept like crap last night. He fought going to sleep again, and I'm beginning to wonder if he's protesting a bedtime bottle. I suppose it'd make sense: the rest of the day, he gets a bottle shortly after waking up, so maybe he's taking the bottle as a sign of "Wake Up!" and then to be put down for the night immediately after one might be confusing. So tonight, I'll try skipping the bedtime bottle. (Heck, I'm willing to try anything at this point.)

But the really confusing thing is that when he finally does go down, he's out like a light for about four hours: and then the issues start. Recently, it's that he's...well, it's not moaning, except it's the baby equivalent, where he's snuffing and whimpering and making all sorts of very "poor-little-me" noises, and he's doing them all without waking up. I checked on him several times during the night, and sure enough: his eyes were tight closed and he didn't react to me entering or even popping his pacifier back in. He was whimpering in his sleep! And he wouldn't stop! For six hours, this went on. I had to turn off the monitor, because I couldn't sleep through it, partially because it was breaking my heart, partially because it was just so noisy! I think last night the longest I slept continuously was two hours, give or take five minutes. I may end up falling asleep during the movie today.

It's enough that I almost want to start swaddling him again. Except that this didn't begin with the unswaddling, so I don't think it's related. I think this is the teething again - although even a dose of Tylenol at midnight isn't helping to quell the whimpers. I noticed yesterday that he's got a third tooth coming in. Poor baby.

Dear Andrew's Teeth:

Move faster, please. And in the daytime. Thank you,

No love,

Andrew's Mommy
