The Nine/Rose porn is going to need something of an overhaul. As I said to amberfocus, anger may lend itself to porn, but it doesn't exactly lend itself to style ( Read more... )

Hey, hon, broccoli and cauliflower can cause extensive gassiness in some babies and asparagus will change the odor and possibly darken the color of his urine, so if you choose those, be prepared for possible discomfort and or diaper weirdness in Andrew. Pureed lamb and chicken actually smell pretty good, sort of like gravy. Pureed beef, not so much. At least if you're getting the babyfood jars. If you're doing it yourself (which is a lot harder with meat) than it probably smells better. (Heinz babyfood smells better than Gerber, and that organic line, I think it's Earth's Best always had the very best smelling food ( ... )

Thinking back to Chicklet's first year, I'm pretty sure that we did not give her any pureed meat. We waited until 9 months and she could have minced up meats - small bits of chicken and stewed meats as well as fish (like cod or tilapia). I wasn't much for store bought baby food anyway since it usually smelled nasty but I couldn't deal with the meats at all. And, really, it's not going to hurt him to wait a few more weeks especially if you introduce some dairy products or maybe some mashed up beans.

Back in the dark ages when my son was a baby, he hated pureed meat, but loved refried type beans. And yes, his doctor said it was fine. He didn't really start to eat any meat (besides tuna) until he was in his early twenties. (And he's still just as happy with beans, lentils, hummus, etc.)

I never pureed the meat, just cut it up very fine with a knife, or if it was ground to begin with, smushed it between my fingers to make it a little more ... pasty. My kids were seven/eight months old then. One of their favorites was ground beef stirred in with brown rice. Stuck to their fingers, they got it to their mouths, and they gummed it up very well. They loved lamb too -- back in those days we bought a whole lamb from a farm nearby ( ... )

What happen to beets? I looked in your baby book: 6 months--applesauce, pears, squash, beets, gr beans. Progressed to chicken, beef, lamb. All table foods that we ate, yours was ground right at the table.
