Oh, dear. Naughty Dex, just like his father!

The children are fabulous in this--fully formed as their own characters, wonderfully sketched out so I can visualize not only their actions, but their appearance. And Rose and Ten are fabulous as well, unable to keep their hands off of each other (given a few quiet moments), and making a delightful team as they jointly parent their children.

I can't wait to see what kind of mess Dex has landed them in.

And while it’s somehow unsurprising that a child of the Doctor’s won’t eat anything but bananas ... I can’t help but think that a trip to Elizabethan England (if I understand Dex correctly?) is not what the Doctor or Rose need just now ...

Oh! Dex wants to marry Sarah Jane! That's so adorable and is going to be so depressing when she dies which is making me depressed so we're going back to Dex. Elizabethan England is never a good place for the Doctor...

Oh God no you're not missing anything in canon! I meant in the future because she's human and mortal and all that!

Oh, good, okay. I know there's a storyline out there in Old Who where Sarah Jane dies, but I think you have to dig into the books and stuff to really get there.

I don't think Dex quite understands the whole mortal thing just yet. Being four, and all. He's got this impression that Sarah Jane will remain exactly as she is until he catches up to her, and then they'll just get older together. Or maybe stay the same.

(He's not one for thinking things through, Dex.)

That sentence almost resulted in a mouthful of banana smoothie being sprayed all over my computer screen. *cackles*

She was always laughing at him, which didn’t exactly sit well with Dex, and once they were married when Dex was older, he’d put a stop to it.

And that made me howl with laughter, since all the smoothie was safely down the hatch. As did Dex's mental soliloquy about Panyards. I'm utterly enchanted by the kids and am waiting with bated breath to see what happens next!
