A Rambling, Somewhat Pointless Post

I have over the last few days been taking the CUE bus either to the Metro or returning home from it. Mostly it's the latter, because I've been getting home around 7.30 or 8 and it's dark and cold, and while it's only a fifteen-minute walk, it's also a three-minute wait for the bus. Thus, bus. Yesterday I took the bus to the Metro but only because there was one on the road as I passed the stop. (And anyway, the bus is only 75 cents, so it's not like I'd be all out of lunch money or anything.)

So I got into work yesterday and Holly says to me, "Lynn thinks she saw you on her bus yesterday."

(Lynn being the first hand who took my place when we went to Bishkek.)

"She hasn't actually said anything to you," continued Holly, "because she thinks you'd probably be a bit freaked out if she sat next to you and immediately started in on how life is at Arena."

Probably so, particularly if I was reading at the time, because hello? I'm reading and don't particularly want conversation. And I likely wouldn't recongize her, as I saw her only once or twice and never for long periods of time. Actually, I'm impressed she would recongize me off the bat like that.

Bill has his travel orders, he has a pack-out date, and he even has reservations for his flight. Now all we're missing (because of course we're missing something) is his visa, but the application was put in on Monday, so all we can do is wait. Anyway, it looks very much like he'll finally be leaving the country mid-month. There's so much stuff that needs to be done before he actually goes that I can't quite get my head around how we're going to do it all, particularly since Arena has gone fully fledged into overtime, and the current designer is...well, not an idiot, as she seems very intellegent and nice, but she sure keeps changing her mind a lot, and she's changed it so much on three of the suits Noel and I were building that we now need to recut them and once again have no fabric.

It's a very good thing I'm not in charge, I would have told her long ago that she couldn't have her suits.

We had a fitting with one of the actors the other day. I'm fairly certain he was flirting with me, which is pretty funny as we were talking about both his wife and my husband at the time. I Googled him this morning - just to see - and it turns out he has a website where, if you click, it will automatically play music he's recorded. The first song is majorly funny, in that it sounds exactly like something Clay Aiken would sing.

As it is, his flirting was fairly pointless, as Noel is the one building his suits (I'm building the suits for the other actor). And we only have maybe two more fittings with him, and then we won't see him again, because it's very rare for an actor to come a'visiting after the show's open.

Although he does remember my name, which happens so rarely that it's worth mentioning.

Anywho, heading out now. It still sort of surprises me how long it takes to get to work from here - from Dunn Loring, it was maybe 45 minutes. One stop out, though, and a bit of a walk, and now it's closer to 75 minutes. Yikes.
